Valerie’s Story
Releasing creativity, one painting at a time - ABSTRACT, PROPHETIC, LANDSCAPE, FLORAL AND PORTRAIT ART
Valerie Morgan is a contemporary artist living in the UK. Since a young age, she has been passionate about creating art, feeling drawn to the beauty and uniqueness of the human face, expression and emotion. Valerie has always been creative, whether in the areas of drawing and painting, basket weaving, working with clay and wood or baking, she has always loved to work with her hands and express herself in that way.
From a young working age she established a career as a secretary, married and became a home-maker and mother. Valerie then home-educated her children for 18 years and often found ways to utilise her creativity to teach.
She is now returning to her passion for painting.
In 2013 she studied life drawing at City of Wolverhampton College.
As her children were growing up Valerie started a small business from 2015 to 2022 with her husband, producing homemade preserves, delicacies, handwoven bags and baskets made from recycled products. She and her husband would often be seen at Wolverhampton Train Station at their pop-up stall.
Over the past year of 2024 Valerie is so thankful to have been able to reignite her passion for painting again, and begin to fully release the creativity that she is blessed with, one painting at a time. Presently, her catalogue consists of prophetic, abstract, landscape, portraits and floral. Her paintings are inspired by her Christian faith as well as her love of nature, colour, shape, form and texture as presented by the changing seasons.
In 2000 Valerie had a life-changing near death experience whilst in hospital, during which she called upon the Name of Jesus. She suddenly felt indescribable love and joy as she felt herself being drawn up to Heaven experiencing overwhelming waves of joy, love, and peace. Although this was an awesome and beautiful experience, Valerie is forever thankful that this was not her time. The Lord spoke to her of her husband and children, and she regained conciousness seeing angels around her hospital bed ministering to her. Valerie was then able to alert medical staff to help her.
Thereafter, her love of worshipping the Lord increased profoundly, and she believes He has called her to glorify Him with her artwork. The Bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11, says: “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future.”
Valerie’s primary desire is, therefore, to glorify God with her gift of creativity, as an expression of worship. To this end she has also begun to embrace prophetic art with Biblical text in her paintings. Many of Valerie’s paintings are created whilst listening to Christian worship music and following prayer, as she dedicates her artwork to God. As she conveys her heart and creativity through her paintings, she hopes they will inspire hope and joy into the lives of others also.
